MIRI: Senadin, Lambir and Bekenu are among seats in the northern region that PAS is eyeing to contest in the coming state election.
Its chief here, Jofri Jaraiee, said the party would want to see a one-to-one fight against BN candidates here and not a multi-cornered fight.
“ Yes, we are going to contest in Senadin, Lambir and Bekenu as we have ground support in these constituencies, “ Jofri told the press at the party’s office here yesterday which also saw the presence of its youth chief Mohammad Arifiazul Paijo and an ordinary member Afran Aminuddin.
According to Jofri, PAS would want a straight fight against BN candidates in the three seats and if the re-delineation of the new state seats were approved and used in the coming polls the party would probably contest in more seats in northern Sarawak.
In the last state election PAS contested in Tanjung Datu, Muara Tuang, Sadong Jaya and Sebuyau.
Jofri meanwhile invited the people here to the party’s Raya open house at Riam Taman Tunku community hall from 11am to 2pm on Aug 15 where lucky draws and selfie contest would be held.
The children would be given ‘duit Raya’.
He said PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man was expected to be the guest-of-honour.- Borneo Post
