Larry Sng may contest in Bukit Goram

KUCHING: Sarawak Workers Party (SWP) president Larry Sng is eyeing Bukit Goram, a new state seat in Kapit, because he is from there.

Bukit Goram, which has about 10,000 voters, is carved out from his former state constituency of Pelagus.

Sng, however, conceded the coming 11th state election would be a challenging one despite his confidence in winning Bukit Goram.

“I am a local from the constituency, and I have received the endorsements of the newly formed SWP Bukit Goram Division and also from SWP Pelagus Division. We are confident of winning the seat despite this being the most challenging election of my political career,” he said through whatsapp yesterday.

Sng had posted in his personal facebook account of his intention to contest in Bukit Goram.

Following this announcement, earlier rumours that Sng could stand in Pelagus is just that – a rumour.

Pelagus assemblyman George Lagong is Sng’s uncle and a member of SWP.-Borneo Post
