“This statement is viewed as criminal intimidation under Section 503 of the Penal Code. Tajuddin’s remark asking Malaysian Chinese not to complain to a foreign country and threatening to slap them is physical assault, hence the decision to lodge a police report after Foo read the news online last night,” Tiang said when met by The Borneo Post today.
Both were adamant in their stance that they had lodged the police report in their personal capacity as citizens of Malaysia, not from a political standpoint.
“I feel that Tajuddin’s statement is a threat to all Malaysian Chinese, including me, and this was made by a cabinet minister of Malaysia. As a minister, he should be more sensitive when making these sort of remarks. We don’t need a minister that can slap, we need a minister that can work.
“We also decided to pass a copy of the police report to the Immigration Department so that the relevant authorities can bar him from entering Sarawak, as Sarawak does not need people that can threaten the racial harmony that we have had all this while,” Foo stressed.-Borneo Post
