Adenan to create own BN team to resolve SUPP-UPP, SPDP-Teras impasse

KAPIT: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem has announced that he will be creating his own Barisan Nasional (BN) team to resolve the SPDP-Teras and SUPP-UPP impasse.

He said this decision was based on advice from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“This means whoever that we choose will be the BN candidate for that area.

“This is the way to resolve (the impasse) once and for all; this is the way of the future, ” he said when officiating at the Sejiwa Senada programme here today (March 5).

Adenan added that he knows the federal government is taking Sarawak very seriously.

“That is why I want a big mandate so I can stand up to the federal government.

“If my mandate is very weak, they will not listen to me,” he said.

Among those present were Adenan’s wife Datin Patinggi Datuk Jamilah Anu, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu, Land Development Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing, State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Morshidi Abdul Ghani, Housing Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Leonald Linggi Temenggong Jugah, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, Kapit MP Datuk Wilson Ugak and Kumbong Assistant Minister of Heritage & Culture Liwan Lagang.-Borneo Post
