Teras feels political differences can be resolved amicably

KUCHING: Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras), a Barisan Nasional-friendly party in Sarawak, feels differences within a party and between parties can be resolved amicably, even though this may involve having to make some compromises.

Its president, Tan Sri William Mawan, said these internal problems should not be allowed to overtake the importance of the bigger challenges and goals of the state BN.

“Differences are expected among friends within a given party or among friends from different parties on some matters or issues,” he said at a Teras dinner in appreciation of the media here last night.

William had expressed concern over what he said were individuals or a small group of people harbouring personal ambitions and invested interests that stood in the way of good and meaningful politics.

He said Teras, under the advice and guidance of Sarawak Chief Minister and State BN Chairman Tan Sri Adenan Satem, wanted them to stop such restrictive pursuits which were not in the interests of the coalition.-BERNAMA
