SRI AMAN: The construction of a new road in Skait here connecting Stumbin, Lingga and Tanjung Bijat is set to replace the old road, which has collapsed.
Lingga assemblywoman Simoi Peri pointed out that the old road collapsed due to soil erosion.
“This new road costs RM5 million and the project will be undertaken by the government for the convenience of the people in the area,” she said while inspecting the project here yesterday.
Present was Sri Aman JKR engineer Cassidy Morris, who said that construction of the 2.2 kilometre long road would begin next week.
It will take six months to complete, he added.
He also warned motorists to drive carefully in light of present road conditions.-Borneo Post
