BN says Amanah bullying PAS, DAP arrogant

PUTRAJAYA: Parti Amanah Negara’s (Amanah) success in obtaining councillor seats in Selangor shows that they have been successful in bullying PAS, said Barisan Nasional (BN) State Assembly Secretary, Budiman Mohd Zohdi.

He said Amanah did not deserve those seats as the party had not served the state or her people.

“What I see is PAS being bullied. What is Amanah’s contribution that they managed to obtain eight seats when the party was only formed recently and have not made any contribution to Selangor?”

He also pointed out that two state seats, namely Hulu Klang by Shaari Sungib and Morib by Hasnul Baharuddin were won under PAS’s banner.

“They (Amanah) have two seats and it was won on PAS’s ticket but now they are bullying PAS,” he told reporters after submitting a note on farmers’ objections to the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries today.

The Sungai Panjang assemblyman also did not rule out the possibility of Amanah demanding Selangor Menteri Besar, Azmin Ali give them state exco seats and urged the state government not to play politics at the expense of the people.

Sharing a similar sentiment was Selangor BN Coordinator, Mat Nadzari Ahmad Dahlan who described DAP as an arrogant party.

According to him, DAP’s decision in not giving their quota to Amanah proved that the former was power-crazy in wanting to administer Selangor.

“DAP should not be arrogant on this matter (giving its councillor seats to Amanah). This clearly shows that DAP wants to be the dominant party and a dictator in the administration of Selangor,” he said.

Mat Nadzari, who is also Batang Kali assemblyman, claimed that DAP’s refusal to offer some of their seats to Amanah was a way of exerting pressure on PAS to exit the state’s administration.

“In my opinion, there is no reason why PAS should relinquish its seats to Amanah because they have been acknowledged by Azmin as a component party in the administration of the state. What reason is there for PAS to give up their seats to Amanah?”

He said that PKR’s need to sacrifice its own state councillor seats showed that the party had lost all credibility as it had failed to defend its own position in the council.-FMT
