Chong DAP is a 'funny politician'

"Funny lah this politician and his party.

And they have many experienced lawyers in their midst too.
And this particular politician keep insisting that other politicians must do as they did in regard to PAS and hudud.
Where is the 'democratic' in Democratic Action Party?
Why do other parties have to come out with the same rigid stance as you?
Your votes and support base are not from the rural and Muslim votes so you can be as hardlined as you want to be.
And also because your support base of those-who-can't-see-past-hudud demands you do so.
Why do you insist others must do the same and commit political suicide?
As a lawyer, he should know hudud was already passed in the Kelantan State Assembly as the Syariah Criminal Code 1993 - affecting Muslims - in Kelantan.
Yet, they continued to co-hort with PAS to form PR and received that tsunamic victory in GE2008.
He must know that the recent passage in March this year in Kelantan DUN were just some AMENDMENTS to that same piece of legislation, passed as the Syariah Criminal Code (II) (1993) 2015 Enactment.
Except this time, in order to implement it in Kelantan, they needed and wanted to get it passed in Parliament.
Yet till today, 4 months later, the BN goverment has not deemed it important enough to allow the bill to be tabled.
Don't we all have a sneaking feeling that many BN MPs also do not welcome hudud, especially BN MPs of Sabah and Sarawak where their constituents are mainly non-Muslims?
Moreover, aren't we all are aware of the livestyles of some UNMO MPs?
What are the chances of this hudud enactment for Kelantan being passed by Parliament?
Why are some seasoned politicians jumping up and down over this one issue and willing to cease the partnership of Pakatan upon which the hopes and expectation of 52% Malaysians gave their votes for?
Are they then not playing into BN's bait? To disunite and dismantle the co-operation between the opposition?
So the ulama leaders of PAS won the day and seem intent to move in that direction.
Does that mean all of PAS members and other leaders who are all voters too, support whole-heartedly this particular move?
Do we need to tar all with the same brush? Do we all not know that the battle is in the rural Malay heartlands?
Do they also not know that their coalition partners - sorry, it's now ex-coalition partners votes comes from this very Muslim heartland?
And for Sarawak, don't they know or purposely not acknowledge the strength and king-maker position of Muslim voters upon whom others have been nuturing?
If we are all confident of the secular nature of our Federal Constitution, why do we need fan the us-and-them issue and force them to stand with the other side?
Isn't this the same as saying why should some Muslims not be confident of their faith by not allowing other religions to use the word Allah?
Personally speaking, DAP is welcome to go on its own if it thinks now is the time for them to insist to part ways with others.
Go see if your urban secular supporters will be able to allow you to change the goverment as promised to the electorates." - Lynn Cheang (FB: PKR Sarawak)
