Bubur lambuk’ for 800 orphans, single mothers, public

KUCHING: Hundreds of packets of ‘bubur lambuk’ were distributed during the ‘Permaidani Kampung Boyan Gersik Sourabaya (BGS)’ event yesterday.

Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman, Datuk Talib Zulpilip, Deputy Finance
Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan and Pantai Damai assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi distributed the porridge to 800 orphans, single mothers, and the public.

Although a simple event, it was a meaningful one as it was meant to gel the community and to promote BGS.

BGS features 54 entrepreneurs selling local delicacies.

Bubur Lambuk is a savoury porridge consumed during the fasting month. It is made from a mixture of rice, lemongrass, spices, vegetables, and chicken or beef.

Apart from ‘bubur lambuk’, ‘bubur pedas’ is also often distributed to break fast during the fasting month.-Borneo Post
