KUCHING: The government has always been fair to the more than 40 Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) centres in the state.
The chief minister’s wife and Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati) president, Datin Patinggi Dato Jamilah Anu, said there was no reason for the administrators and staff of CBR centres to feel marginalised.
She noted such sentiments could have arisen during festive seasons, when some CBR centres did not get contributions, unlike others.
“You should not feel disappointed if you did not receive help or not being feted during this Hari Raya festive season, for example. It does not mean you are being sidelined because there are other festive seasons for your centre to receive the same help.
“What is important is for you to keep the faith that there are individuals or quarters that will come and give help. In the meanwhile, you should think of initiatives to improve the performance of your respective CBR centres and those under your care,” she remarked during the presentation of Hari Raya contributions at PDK Buntal near here yesterday.
She also advised parents to give equal attention and treatment to their normal children and their children with special needs.
Yesterday’s function saw the presentation of Hari Raya contributions to 50 persons with special needs under the care of CBR Centre Buntal.
Present at the event was the centre’s patron Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin.-Borneo Post
