The people of Sarawak has spoken out loud today in the 722 Rally at Song Kheng Hai Padang. The huge turnout here is evident of the love and passion that Sarawakian has for Sarawak.
It also shows that resentment of Sarawakians towards the marginalisation of Sarawak under the BN policies.
As such, the BN Government, be it the Federal and the State Government, immediately put their act together to rectify the wrong and injustice done to Sarawak over the 52-year BN rule.
To start with, the demand for 20% oil and gas royalty issue must be promptly addressed. It has been more than 14 months since the Sarawak DUN passed the unanimous resolution to demand for the increment of Sarawak’s entitlement to oil and gas royalty to 20%, yet the State and Federal Governments are still “negotiating”.
The so-called “negotiation” has been going on for years, long before Adenan became the Chief Minister of Sarawak, and now it is still going on indefinitely.
The people of Sarawak should give Adenan 3 months to settle the matter. Yes or No. Otherwise, it is clear that the Federal Government does not respect the wishes of the people of Sarawak and thus there is no reason for Sarawak BN to remain in National BN anymore.
On a second note, the State government must also immediately embark on the 4 areas of autonomy that Sarawak DAP brought up, namely education, health care, police matter and taxation. These are issues that concern not only us but also our future generations and we cannot afford to allow the BN Government to sit on the matter indefinitely.
