DAP’s hypocrisy is again evident in school land sacrifice

CONTRADICTED EACH OTHER: DAP’s hypocrisy is again evident when Penang Government bemoans non-sacrifice of school land acquisition

The Penang Chinese Girls’ High School (PCGHS) issue in which its field was proposed to be acquired by the DAP-led state government once again exposes the party’s hypocrisy.

The statements by Penang Exco for Local Government, Traffic and Flood Mitigation Chow Kon Yeow and Exco for Youth, Sports, Women’s, Family and Community Development Chong Eng’s contradicted each other.

Chow expressed regret that the PCGHS was unwilling to sacrifice the land to develop the Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP) while Chong denied that the initially proposed land acquisition had anything to do with PTMP.

Who is telling the truth? Penangites demand the DAP-led state government to come out with a reasonable explanation.

DAP keeps saying that it protects Chinese education. But after it came into power, it acted to the detriment of Chinese education and intrudes into school land.

If the state government could use development as an excuse to forcefully acquire a school field, PCGHS will not be the last to be sacrificed. Very soon, we will be having the second and the third.

The rakyat have seen drastic change of attitude in DAP before and after it took the helm of the state. DAP has on many occasions condemned the federal government for allegedly treating Chinese education unfairly. Now that the Rocket is in power, it ironically uses development as the basis and wants the school to make way and the people to approach the issue rationally.

DAP should have felt what the people feel. But we only see repeated diplomacies, and diversion of attention. It is again evident that the ‘For Chinese education, for SJKC’ slogan once shouted by DAP was only for show. DAP switches it head when it gets power. We dare not dream for the party to assist Chinese education, but please do not damage it, and stop manipulating the Chinese community.
