KUCHING: The Sarawak United National Youths Organisation (Saberkas) hopes to boost its membership among students of higher learning institutions.
According to Saberkas state executive secretary Iszuan Haroni, it has about 800 campus club members here who come
from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Samarahan Campus and Masterskill Global College Kuching.
“Next on our list is Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus (Kuching), which is expected to boost our membership past 1,000. International students at Swinburne are also welcome to join,” he said when met after the distribution of some 200 packs of ‘bubur lambuk’ to Masterskill students – the majority of whom are its campus club members – here yesterday.
Masterskill centre manager Dr Irene Lau and Saberkas state executive council member Abang Abdul Aziz Abang Abdul Rauf were also involved in the programme.
Saberkas campus clubs are independent organisations that can freely hold their own activities and elect their own office-bearers. The members, with help from Saberkas, get to hone their leadership skills, as well as enhance their networking and job-seeking opportunities.
Meanwhile Masterskill Global College Kuching will hold its registration day this July 29, where those interested can go and sign up for diploma programmes in Healthcare, Medical Laboratory, Environmental Health, Physiotherapy and the latest, Occupational Safety and Health.
The college also offers Foundation Studies in Health Sciences to set fresh school-leavers off on the right foot.
The city campus is at Block 218, Lot 51, Jalan Batu Kawah near Jalan Stapok Junction. For more details, call 082-688777.
