KUCHING: Sarawak has no plans to ban vape for the time being, said Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Development) Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais.
He added that vape was not a big issue in the state, thus far.
“We are not banning it yet, unless it becomes an obvious situation that will bring negative effects to the society,” he said when met after the launching of ‘Back to School’ campaign at Boulevard Shopping Mall here yesterday.
Vape has been banned in Johor and Kelantan.
In Johor, the vape ban will be enforced at all government offices starting Jan 1, 2016.
The ban applies to both civil servants and visitors.
The Sultan of Johor had also ordered all vape outlets to close shop on the same date.
In Kelantan, notices have been given to clear premises and stores of vaping products by Jan 1, 2016.-Borneo Post
