KUCHING: State DAP is confident Kota Sentosa, Batu Kawah and Batu Kitang folk will root for them in the next state election.
Abdul Aziz Isa, special assistant to Bandar Kuching MP Chong Chieng Jen, opined that the majority of Batu Kitang voters were mostly DAP supporters.
He made the remark during Christmas visits with party comrades, including Stampin MP Julian Tan and Batu Kawah assemblywoman Christina Chiew, at Kampung Bumbok and Kampung Tematu, which comes under Batu Kitang constituency.
“The people here welcome DAP to stand in DUN Batu Kitang in the next state election since the seat is carved out from DUN Kota Sentosa, particularly Arang and Pasar Maong areas, and DUN Batu Kawah, particularly Kampung Haji Baki and Kitang areas.
“There are six Bidayuh villages under DUN Batu Kitang, namely Kampung Sudat, Kampung Semeba, Kampung Tematu, Kampung Dangak, Kampung Bumbok and Kampung Betong,” he said.
Abdul Aziz claimed that the DAP was actively serving the people here and their relationship with the Bidayuhs was “very good”.
“We will continue to serve the people here, regardless of their race, religion or gender.”-Borneo Post
