Song folk asked to give Adenan five-year mandate

KAPIT: Song folk have been called on to continue voting for the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next state election to ensure Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem has a five-year mandate to carry out his policies.

Jefferson Jamit Unyat, a political secretary to the Chief Minister, said the state has witnessed Adenan’s dynamic and down-to-earth policies since he took office.

“He knows Sarawakians’ aspiration and needs. In the coming election, let us all be politically united to give Adenan the full support.

“We must vote for the BN candidate in Katibas to ensure that all development programmes that have been slotted for Song District under the 11th Malaysia Plan are implemented smoothly,” he said when flagging off the Jalur Gemilang convoy for the district on Monday.

“As the state election draws nearer, there will be many aspiring politicians coming around to lobby for support. Those individuals or from opposition parties, under the pretext of democracy, will be all out to belittle the good efforts of the government because they want to gain support. Remember all these years, since independence more than 50 years ago, it’s the BN government that has looked after welfare and implemented projects in the district for the benefit of the people.”

He questioned the sincerity of the opposition and called on the people not to be easily influenced by their propaganda.

“These politicians only appear before and during the election and after that they disappear then come back again during the next election. Do you think they would help to better the quality of life among our people in the rural area?” he asked.

Among those present at the event were Song District Officer Jackline August, Song OCPD DSP Kamaludin Kassim, Song information officer Joseph Laga, and administrative officer Robert Segie.-Borneo Post
