PKR and DAP lock horns in six seats, BN win two uncontested

KUCHING: Two candidates have already won in their constituencies even before the fight began, handing over easy wins to Barisan Nasional (BN) on nomination day (April 25).

BN candidate and PBB senior vice president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan has won uncontested in the constituency of Bukit Sari and has been re-elected for his sixth term as state assemblyman.

In Bukit Kota, BN candidate Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail could be seen celebrating on the shoulders of his supporters after he was declared the uncontested winner in the constituency.

Multi-cornered fights abound throughout the state, with opposition parties PKR and DAP at loggerheads with one another in six seats, namely Mambong, Simanggang, Ngemah, Batu Kitang, Mulu and Murum.
