PBB, PRS, SUPP and SPDP, what was your cut from RM2.6b?

OPINION: Among the BN component parties, only MCA had publicly admitted that the party had received funding from the RM2.6 billion deposited into Prime Minister Najib Razak's personal account, two months before the 2013 elections.

According to former MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek, his party and other BN component parties had a cut from the RM2.6 billion.

Nothing wrong in getting a cut from the huge ‘donation’. And yes, if it’s really a donation from the Saudi Royal Family, as revealed by Attorney- General Apandi Ali.

People with money to throw are free to throw them anywhere they want and any one can pick them up. Not only beggars will pick them up, prime ministers too.

What if it’s not a donation but funds ‘diverted’ from 1MDB? Then, there is a big problem.

DAP's Lim Guan Eng has asked MCA and Gerakan a valid question. He wanted the two BN components to reveal how much they had received for the 2013 general elections.

According to a Malay Mail report on Feb 19, the DAP secretary-general asked “So we want to know how much did they receive from the sum? This is very important because we all know the RM2.6 billion is linked to 1MDB.”

Lim said that anything related to 1MDB was important as it involved public funds.

And herein lies the BIG issue. 1MBD is state-owned and taxpayers’ money is at stake.

While the DAP has posed the question to only MCA and Gerakan, I would also ask the BN components in my home state of Sarawak the same question.

So, PBB, PRS, SUPP and SPDP, what was your cut from the RM2.6 billion during the 2013 general election?

PBB’s Adenan Satem, PRS’ Dr James Masing, SUPP’s Dr Sim Hui Kian and SPDP’s Tiong King Sing owe Sarawakians an answer.

If CM Adenan thinks that 1MBD and RM2.6 billion scandals are non-issues in Sarawak, he is wrong.

These are scandals affecting the whole nation, Adenan, unless you want to assume that Sarawak is no longer an entity in Malaysia.

I believe even the Penans in Long San know about 1MDB. If they don’t, I think Baru Bian and his boys will make sure that they do.

Like Dr Chua Soi Lek of MCA, there is no shame for Adenan, Dr Masing, Dr Sim or Tiong to admit that they did get a cut from the RM2.6 billion in 2013.

And it would really be to their credit if they could publicly reveal the amount they received from Najib in the interest of transparency and accountability.

With the looming Sarawak election, my advice to PBB, PRS, SUPP and SPDP is this: “Don’t touch any ‘donation’ money from your big boss in Putrajaya. It’s money derived from the sweat and tears of your hardworking fellow Malaysians. It’s a mortal sin to use the people’s money for political purposes”.-THE ANT DAILY
