The title "Malays are responsible for the nation’s mess in 2015 " is so true to the T that it may be too hard for the Malays to chew. The fact that PM was not in Parliament but let his deputy speak for three minutes to clarify the 2.6 billion only shows he has no respect for Members of Parliament. Malaysians in particular the Malays have been made a laughing stock of when it was highlighted by WSJ.
Yes, 2016 is unlikely to see any change in this despicable situation in the country if the Malays allow PM/Umno to dictate with the NSC enactment coming through. Looks like the majority of the rakyat will suffer especially the rural poor Malays under Felda who took loans to buy shares and continue to pay for their loans.
Packed Heat: 1MDB and corrupt leaders aren't the only thing the Malays should answer for.
Malays should answer for allowing the rising tide of fundamentalism that infected this nation's Muslim majority and drove the wedge between them and their countrymen.
Malays should answer for allowing and encouraging hundreds, maybe thousands, of their own people to participate illegally in the Syrian civil wars, joining ISIS or any militant groups, to usurp Bashar Assad, in some delusional hope that they get first class seats in heaven when the Kiamat rolls over and cleanse the Earth. They should have stayed and fight a peaceful jihad against corruption here, instead of fighting in other people's wars.
Malays should answer for the rise of child marriages. Not just allowing these to happen but also defending this outdated deed for some arbitrary reasons, like preventing maksiat or upholding (their version of) Islam
Malays should answer for their sudden attitude against human rights. For the past few years, we've had ministers and religious elites venting hateful rhetoric and indoctrinating naive Malay minds against human rights, claiming that human rights is a Western invention, and giving excuses that moderation is enough. Never realizing that these human rights are what gave Malaysia her Merdeka in the first place and help in fighting poverty, racism, and corruption.
Finally, Malays should answer for turning against their own people who they deemed "murtad": the Shiites, the Ahmadiyyas, liberals, LGBTs, dissenters, critics, Malays who helped non-Muslims, Malays who helped dogs that needed shelter etc. These "murtad" Malays have been humiliated, punished, arrested or exiled for the crime of just being different, of not conforming to the conservative Umno-PAS standard of being a "good" Malay. Malay lawyers, teachers, intellectuals, activists, reporters and so on have been arrested on vague, arbitrary charges, while real terrorists, along with racists, perverts and corrupt civil servants, roam around freely.
